The Starr Family Home State Historic Site in Marshall, Texas is the former home of James and Nancy Starr. The site includes the house, outbuildings, and grounds. The site is open to the public for tours, programs, and events.

The Starr Family Home was built in 1858 by James and Nancy Starr. James was a carpenter and builder, and Nancy was a homemaker. The couple had eight children, four of whom died in childhood. The family lived in the house until 1884, when they moved to a farm outside of Marshall. In 1893, the house was sold to a local family.

The house is a two-story frame vernacular with Greek Revival influences. It has a central hall plan with four rooms on each side of the hall. The first floor rooms are divided by a central stairway. The second floor has two large bedrooms and a smaller room that was probably used as a nursery.

The outbuildings on the property include a kitchen, smokehouse, barn, and carriage house. These buildings were all built by James Starr and were used by the family during their time on the property.

The grounds of the historic site include the original garden that Nancy Starr planted in 1858. The garden features herbs, vegetables, and flowers that were common in 19th century gardens. There is also a small cemetery on the property that contains the graves of four of the Starr children who died in childhood.

Karma Farms Marshall is a working farm in Marshall, Virginia that grows and sells fresh, organic produce. The farm is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Jeff and Jody Lawrence. The Lawrences moved to the country in 2006 with the dream of starting a farm. They started small, with just a few acres of land and a few chickens. Today, the farm has grown to include 30 acres of farmland, a large greenhouse, and a variety of animals including pigs, goats, and cattle.

The Lawrences are committed to sustainable farming practices and sell their produce through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. CSA members pay upfront for a share of the farm's harvest, which they receive throughout the growing season. This model allows customers to support local farmers while getting fresh, healthy food at a reasonable price.

Karma Farms Marshall is open to the public for tours and events. Visitors can learn about sustainable farming practices, see the animals up close, and pick their own produce in the on-farm store. The Lawrences also offer cooking classes and other educational programs throughout the year.

The Grove Marshall is the head of the court that presides over the Grove, a sacred space within the Druidic tradition. The Grove Marshall is responsible for ensuring the safety and sanctity of the Grove, and for maintaining order during ritual events. The position of Grove Marshall is typically held by a Druid who has undergone extensive training in Druidic law and ritual.

The Jefferson Candlelight Tour Of Homes Marshall will take place on December 12th, 2019. This tour will showcase some of the most beautiful homes in Marshall, Missouri. This is a great opportunity to see how the residents of Marshall live and get a glimpse of the holiday spirit. The tour will start at 5:00 pm and will last until 9:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the door or online.
